We love spending time with family and friends in the outdoors and this regularly includes making a hot drink and toasting a marshmallow over an open fire, lit by ourselves using nothing but friction. This is bush craft. If you think that you and your group would enjoy some time in beautiful wild surroundings, learning some basic skills related to living in the outdoors, then this is a great choice for you. If you are family group, there will be plenty of opportunity to play games in the canoes, as well as learning lots of hands-on bushcraft techniques on shore. Children love creating fires and shelters and we let them do all the running around, collecting the best kindling and fire wood! For adult groups, we will take a more in-depth approach and will incorporate some modern-day tools, as well as using age-old techniques. We will talk about how to journey efficiently in the canoe, as well as how to live on the land comfortably, using the tools that nature yields. You will finish your day with a whole new set of skills that you can take away with you on your next adventure! ‘Leave No Trace’ is very much one of our core values and will be a common thread throughout all of the elements that we teach.
