Paddling on Derwent Water in a Canadian Canoe has to be one of the most enjoyable ways to explore the Lake District. You will be fully immersed in your surroundings, paddling on crystal clear waters and taking in the spectacular panorama of mountains that surround you. This is a great group activity that can be enjoyed by all, from beginners to veterans and young to old! After a short introduction, where we learn or consolidate the basics of paddling and water safety, the session becomes yours. It can be close to shore with lots of fun and games, a journey out to visit one of the islands or an exploration of the surrounding bays. We usually stop somewhere for a hot drink, so you can relax and take in the views. Canadian canoes are pretty stable and rarely capsize but we can raft the boats together if we have young members, nervous passengers or windy conditions. Our instructors are great at creating sessions that are tailored to the needs and preferences of your group, so you can simply relax and enjoy your time on the water. This activity is available to book as a morning, afternoon or full day activity.
*Please note that under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
